Word Choice – Bulletin Board and Activity

Are you tired of seeing your students use the same words over and over? Encourage your students to give tired words a rest by sending them to stay at the Weary Words Retirement Community. This resource includes teacher notes, materials to create an anchor chart, a bulletin board set, and student pages.

Begin with the suggested mini-lesson. Then students will work with a partner or in a small group to list synonyms for tired words. Add the words to the anchor chart. Then, use the Weary Words Retirement Community bulletin board to help students think about word choice.
